Two Key Benefits Of Having A Personal Growth Coach
Two people running together - one.jpg

I trust you've had a GREAT summer and are gearing up for a GREAT fall!

I know you're busy so I'll be brief

With kids back in school, vacations and family reunions over, and with weekend trips to the lake or family cabin coming to a close, many of us are looking to get back into some kind of productive and purposeful routine.

Two Key Benefits Of Having A Personal Growth Coach

As I've coached hundreds of people over the past 3 years, I've noticed two primary benefits of having a personal growth coach.

First, There’s a commitment to a PROCESS

Many times we want to grow, but "life gets in the way." But when you've made a commitment of time, effort, and money into a coaching process, you know that at least once a month your coaching is going to be connecting with you to help you get where you want to go. That's a huge benefit to having a personal life-focus coach.

Second, There’s a commitment in a mutual PARTNERSHIP

Having someone walking with you in the direction you want to go is also huge. Having a coach who can draw things out of you, give you ideas, offer encouragement and inspiration, be a sounding board, keep you on track according to where you want to go and so on, is also extremely invaluable.

In fact, do you know that the stats show if you're working on a goal with someone else, the chances of you reaching your goal goes from 15% (if you try to do it on your own) up to 75 to 80% (if you have someone working with you and walking with you as you move toward that goal)? That's HUGE.

A Special Offer:

I'm working on my coaching schedule for the fall and have a few coaching spots still available, so I'm offering a 3 month (October through December), once a month, one hour coaching session (via zoom) for just $155 a month.

That's 50% off my normal coaching cost.

Here's why I'm offering this special fall offer:

  • I only have a few coaching spots still available

  • I don't want finances to be a deterrent to anyone who really wants coaching

  • I usually only offer a 6 month or 12 month coaching package at much higher rates

  • I want to help you move from where you’re at to where you want to go

Next Steps:

If you are interested simply email me at and or call me on my cell at 216-374-0016 and we'll go from there.

However, if I could hear back from you by September 15th, that way we can get our initial call set up and our first coaching session scheduled for sometime in the month of October.

I Got Smacked - Again - Today!

A few months back I wrote a blog about getting smacked. Read it Here:

It happened again today!

I was having a tough week. Things weren’t going in the direction I wanted them to go, or as fast as I thought they should go. I had been whining, feeling sorry for myself. The “blue funk cloud” was circling.

I was on the phone with a guy I was coaching and he said something that hit me hard. Just in passing he said,

“Our measure of entitlement has direct correlation to our measure of joy.”

Wow! Ouch! Smack!

As soon as I heard it, I had to admit, I was guilty. Much of my lack of joy was directly tied to what I thought I was owed. By God. From Others. From my own hard work.

A few days later I was reading from an author who reinforced this same idea. He wrote:

Have you ever noticed that people who are self-focused and narcissistic are usually really unhappy, if not depressed? But have you also noticed that people who are generally others-focused and more selfless are usually very happy? When we’re down, one of the best things we can do is serve somebody else. It’s the backdoor to joy. And it’s always unlocked. *

Smacked again!

So let me ask you:

  • What’s your current level of entitlement?

  • How’s your current level of joy?

Are the two of them, in any way, related to your current state of appreciation and gratitude for the life you’ve been given and the kind of life your currently living? Just something to think about.

Instead of my coaching client paying me that day, I should have paid him (I didn’t !). But what he said really hit me hard and it continues to help me with my level of joy even today.

I trust it will help you as well.

P.S. - In the next few weeks, keep your eye out for a special coaching opportunity, that I’ve never offered. If you’ve ever wanted to have a coach but weren’t sure you could afford it, this maybe your opportunity.

The Number One Reason You May Not Reach Your Goals in 2019!
Two people running together - two.jpg

Not sure if you’re a big goal setter or not? Some people are. Some people aren’t.

But if you are, below may be the number one reason you may not reach your goals in 2019. And I think the reason may suprise you.

Many Reasons

What I’ve found in my own life, as well as after coaching hundreds of other individuals, is that there are many reasons we don’t fulfill our goals.

  • Procrastination. Lack of a clear plan. Lack of a reasonable step by step process.

  • No due date assigned to the goal. Weak personal disciplines. We get distracted.

  • Daily life overwhelms us. Inadequate time management…and a score of other reasons.

The Biggest Reason

However, one of the biggest reasons people (including myself) don’t fulfill their goals, may surprise you.

It’s often because we don’t solicit a partner, a coach, a counselor, a trainer or someone … to walk with us and work with us as we pursue our goals.

Here’s What The Research Shows:

According to research done by Dr. Gail Matthews of the Dominican University of California,

  • If a person has a goal but they don’t write it down – it’s just a goal rolling around in their head – the chances of that person reaching that goal is only 15 to 20 percent.

  • If a person writes the goal down and keeps it in a place where they can regularly see and review it, the chances of that person reaching that goal increases to 30 to 40 percent.

  • BUT, if a person has someone working with them to reach that goal –a jogging buddy, a health coach, a work-out trainer, friends dieting together, a personal growth coaching, etc. – then the success rate of that person reaching that goal increases 70 to 80 percent

Bottom Line

So in essence, if you’re serious about reaching your goals in 2019, then having someone encourage you, give you ideas, hold you accountable, motivate you, instruct and inspire you, as you pursue that goal – is essential.

If I can help you reach your goals in 2019, I’d be honored. Below are two specific ways I can help:

  • One on one coaching

  • Life-Focus online coaching course

I'm Turning 62! 3 Important Things I've Learned
Ken_4.11.18 (206 of 274).jpg

On November 27th I’ll turn 62!

As I reflect on my life, here are three important things I’ve learned about life.

Life Flies By Really, Really Fast

Growing up my parents always talked about how fast life goes by. But, of course as a little kid, you never felt that way. But now….62 years later, it’s hard to believe I’m turning 62. Just saying the words “I’m 62,” and hearing them come out of my mouth - doesn’t seem possible.

  • It’s hard to believe my dad is 88

  • It’s hard to believe I graduated from high school 44 years ago

  • It’s hard to believe I have a daughter 37, a son 35, and a son 30

  • It’s hard to believe I’m a grandparent (which I never wanted to become but now that I am one, I love it)

This is why I want to live my life with purpose and help others do the same.

We Have To Run The Entire Race

To be ahead in the first mile of a twenty-one mile race, doesn’t mean much. The same is true in life.

How many people do you know who shined bright for only a short season, but then stalled or fizzled out. A shinning star over a short period of time doesn’t really mean much. It’s the people who move forward - even if it’s inch by inch - over the duration of their life, are to me the most impressive.

It’s not how we start the race, but it’s how we run the race, and even more importantly, how we finish the race.

Life Shapes Us

The question isn’t will life shape us, it’s how will life shape us?

  • Will we become hardened or more humble?

  • Will we become cynical or more grateful?

  • Will we grow to resent life or discover a deeper purpose to life?

  • Will we learn to hate or learn to love?

  • Will we become hopeless or become more resilient?

  • Will we be blown off course or moved toward our destiny?

Life will shape us. The choice is ours.

62 and Counting…

As I turn 62, I’m extremely grateful for the blessed life I’ve been able to live. And I certainly don’t take that for granted.

Looking ahead to the coming years of my life, I want to continue to live with passion and purpose. When I cross from this temporary home into my eternal home, I want to hear my heavenly Father say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

If I can help…

If I can help you live a more focused life so you can live a more fruitful life, I would be honored to do so.

What I've Decided To Do With The Rest of My Life
Ken bio picture - number one.jpg

Life is made up of seasons. One season followed by another, followed by another...As you string them all together they make up a life.

As I write this post we are heading into a new season. Vacations are over, kids are back in school, summer is winding down, and fall is just around the corner.

I’m heading into a new season of life as well. It’s a season that represents what I’ve decided to do with the rest of my life to.

My new website reflects exactly what I plan on doing with the rest of my life and exactly how I plan on doing it.

So if you would, give it a quick review here -

Love to hear from you.
